Dr. Dörte Fouquet is a lawyer with more than 25 years of experience, in particular in energy and environmental law. Beginning of 2011 she joined Becker Büttner Held (BBH) law firm as partner. BBH is one of the biggest German energy law firms and specialised overall in advice in areas such as infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, competition, renewable energies and energy system change.
Since 1999 she represents the interests of independent RES power producers and their European organisation EREF asbl in Brussels ( www.eref-europe.org ).
Since 2005 she is senior advisor to PV manufacturer First Solar whom she accompanied from the first beginning. She assisted in tasks such as sustainability of technologies, due diligence for the planning and permitting procedures and gives regular advise in the regulatory process around renewable energies with focus on PV.
Within her work as independent lawyer she regularly advises renewable energy companies, finance institutions and governments in their various questions on European energy, environmental, competition and related policies. Thereby, she is specialised in the legal framework conditions for access to the market for renewable energies, especially concerning the different support mechanisms and easing of entrance barriers for Renewable energy production.
